Brief
Film, direct, and edit a video of the client for her website PamelaNears.com that I designed. Use color palette, branding, and direction to execute a video based on client's branding and promotional needs.
Concept
I directed, filmed, and photographed the client at the farmer's market using an iPhone 11 Pro Max and used Adobe Premiere for editing. I also took photos at the market and added images found online to visually explain the audio and video content. I cut clips, added captions, and rearranged them to best tell the story of Pamela Nears, The Small Kitchen Chef. The message focused on a passion for natural food and community which effectively came through in this video.
ANTARCTICA
Brief
Design a 23 second travel show opening video consisting of the text "The World Traveler and Samantha Brown" and add your name at the end. Choose the location. You must use at least one billboard, one street sign, and one map or globe. Use appropriate animation effects and features in After Effects. Use only flat images or drawings, include some 3D, but no video.
Concept
I was inspired by Antarctica, the Southern lights, and the song I chose. This became a story about Samantha Brown who I substituted as Sally Brown from Charlie Brown. I used many effects and features in After Effects to add to the overall theme and storyline. Since we were required to use signage, I added a penguin crossing sign and the Frozen Billboard in the back which added to the theme. The combination of text and movement of the images created a continuous and evolving story that ends up in outer space. Each movement is in conjunction with the music. I used a Futura Bold font for the titles.
HOLLYWOOD BOWL
JAZZ FESTIVAL
Brief
Design a 23 second video for an advertisement for the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival. Include the names of the musicians, and Hollywood Bowl text. Choose the music and elements to make it come to life. Using only flat images, illustration, and other components, but no video.
Concept
I chose a song from the Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans. I used a drawing of a saxophone to connect various parts of the video together resulting in a collage at the end. I also created movement with the images flowing in conjunction with the music. I used a Futura font for the titles.
